Frightmares Haunted House will be open through Oct. 31 at 250 S. Foster St. in downtown Dothan across from the Greyhound bus station. Hours are 7 to 10 p.m., Sunday-Thursday, and 7 p.m.-until on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and younger.
HALLOWEEN
Columbia Manor Haunted House will be open Oct. 26 and 27 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight and Oct. 30 and 31 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Entry is $10 per person. The haunted house is located at 306 S. Main St. in Columbia. Visit www.columbiamanor.com.

Landmark Park will host the annual Wiregrass Heritage Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event includes peanut harvesting with mules and vintage farm equipment, cane-grinding and syrup-making along with exhibits or antique tractors, engines and farm equipment. An antique tractor pull will be held along with blacksmithing, corn shelling woodworking, soap-making and a juried quilt show. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and active military, $4 for kids and free for members and children ages 2 and younger. For more information, call 334-794-3452.

Chautauqua Vineyards and Winery will host its annual Harvest Festival on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring Geoff McBride, a contestant from season two of ?The Voice.? The event will include free wine tasting, a car cruise-in, art and craft vendors, and a wine and paint party. Live music will include Smokin? Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and McBride from 2 to 6 p.m. The Kiwanis Club will also be selling barbecue plates. The winery is located at 364 Hugh Adams Road in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., near the northeast corner of Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 331. The Alabama Symphony Orchestra will perform on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Dothan Opera House at 7:30 p.m. with conductor Christopher Confessore and guest artist Bobby Horton of Three on a String. Ticket Prices are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and children. Confessore and Horton will also appear at a Coffee with the Conductor event on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Wiregrass Museum of Art. The coffee event is $15 for general admission and $10 for members of Music South, which is sponsoring the orchestra?s concert.
HALLOWEEN
The Headland Chamber of Commerce will host Halloween Scream in downtown Headland on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. The free event includes hayrides, dance contest, costume contest, games, inflatables and candy for trick-or-treating. Downtown streets will be blocked off for safety. Residents, churches and businesses are invited to set up ?stations? along the inside sidewalks of the square (on the park side) of Church, Grove and Park streets to hand out candy as they would at home or provide games like bean bag toss or bobbing for apples for the children to come by and play. Oct. 30 is the recognized day for trick-or-treating in the city of Headland. For more information, call 334-693-3303.

THEATER
?Noises Off? will be performed at the Chipola Center for the Arts on Nov. 1-3 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Written by Michael Fryan, the show presents a manic menagerie of a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called ?Nothing?s On.? Content may not be suitable for children under 10 years of age. DANCE
Ms. Ethel?s Total Praise Dance Studio will hold its third annual dance recital on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Dothan Cultural Arts Center on South St. Andrews Street. Admission is $19 and free for ages 5 and younger.
MUSIC
The Christian pop band Newsboys will perform at the Ozark Civic Center on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. as part of the group?s ?God?s Not Dead? tour. VIP tickets are $75 and gold circle tickets are $35. THEATER
The Flagship Theatre in Dothan will present ?The Red, White and Blue Review? on Nov. 8-10 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. to celebrate Veteran?s Day. The variety show will feature the local group Sisters in Song, dance performances by The Star Spangled Chorus and The Firecracker Chorus, and the original plays ?Rosie the Riveter? and ?Avenger Idol.? A dollar from each ticket sold will go to a local school, while another dollar from each ticket will go to The Wounded Warrior Project of Alabama. The Foggy Bottom BBQ Bash will be held Nov. 10 at Miller Memorial Stadium in downtown Elba. Gates open at 10 a.m. Admission is $5 per person but free for children under age 12. Along with a Florida Barbecue Association barbecue competition, the event will feature entertainment, a fun zone for children, arts and crafts vendors, and food vendors.
