Lincolnshire Police - Building Society Robbery, Spalding

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that occurred at a Spalding building society just before closing time.

Shortly before 5pm, a man entered the Norwich and Peterborough in Sheep Market and demanded money. No weapon was seen or mentioned but the suspect had one of his hands concealed. Staff were shaken by the incident but nobody was injured.

The ma left the branch with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is described as average build, around 6' 2" tall, with light blonde hair. He had an English accent and was wearing jeans, a baseball cap, dark jacket and had a scarf around his face.

Police would also like to trace a woman who was in the branch asking to change Euros immediately before the incident and who may be an important witness. (CCTV image of her below at the bottom).

Higher resolution CCTV images should be available later today.

Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire Police by dialling 101 and quoting the incident number. Report crimes anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
